Ice Desert

Spanning the northern portion of the known world from the Great Eastern Sea, across the Greyslate Mountains and beyond, the Ice Desert is one of the most inhospitable places known.

During the long days of the summer, temperatures rarely rise to a point that could be considered comfortable, and nights often drop below freezing. During the long dark winters, a day where the temperature reaches freezing is rare, and exposure to the elements for minutes means the death of most mortals.

Small groups of nomadic herders live along the edge of the desert in groups of 10-30, scraping out a tough life. Contact with those who live in villages to the south is extremely rare, although these nomads are sometimes sought out as some are said to be very skilled seers.
